Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all! I hope everyone was having the fun Christmas. What did you do on Christmas? Was it fun or exciting on Christmas for you? I know that it was exciting and fun on Christmas for me. My favourite part about this Christmas is when my family and I opened the presents. A random person had to go and open their presents, no one else's. I was the first random person to be called out. I started opening my biggest present to the smallest. I opened the biggest present. I took a deep breath into my lungs and let out a massive (manly) scream. "Oh my gosh! A nintendo switch!" I shout.

That's right I got a Nintendo Switch. If you don't know what a Nintendo Switch is then I don't know what your doing at your home but, if you are a person that either has a Nintendo Switch or knows what a Nintendo Switch is then you must know how awesome they are!

I've been wanting a Nintendo for ever and finally santa has answers my wish.

Hope you had a spectacular Christmas!

Haere ra and thank you.

Holiday vlog - Vlog 1 Day 1 / Kitekite falls/Piha Bushwalk - Piha beach

🙏Suksabai, talofa lava (english - greetings/hello) blog viewers! New post awaits!

Kia ora blog viewers it's Jin and this is my first Christmas holiday-vlog! Hope you guys enjoy and stay tuned for more over the weeks!

(Sorry no SLJ posts, I don't have that much time on my hands).(This post was made the day after the trip).

Yesterday my family and I went on a road trip to Piha, a beautiful place that has thrilling mountain heights and a long bush walk that my parents and I explored. The bush walk houses a hidden waterfall named Kitekite falls, I thought Kitekite falls was really cool.

Kitekite falls was very small but was unique in a way. Even though it was small it still was like "the real deal". The bottom lake/pool was super cold and calm. When I got my ankles into the  lake/pool it instantly become the temperature in Antarctica. My ankles actually turned numb and sore.

I saw a group of eels soaring through the cold water. As you may not know, I'm scared of (the) sea (animals). And yea a small eel can also scare me. What? You're scared of stuff too. Because of that little accident I got out of the lake/pool. My Dad told advised me to swim at the top of the falls. And I thought that was crazy but as it turns out the top of the falls is a (ok) sized pool full of fresh water. I was hesitant at first but at the end I jumped in the pool and it refreshed me. It felt like a refrigerated bucket of soda smothered my body.

We got out of the wild bush walk and got some fresh food to gobble up. I had a mouth watering sausage roll with a lemonade-fizzy drink to wash it down. I felt stuffed. We got back into Mums car and drove to the Piha beach to enjoy the sun a little. I thought it was cool because the sand there was black. We enjoyed the sun so much that I think it got too comfortable and made the sand boiling hot.

Yesterday was really interesting actually. If I would choose my favourite bit about the day it would be the top of the falls where it had a fresh pool of water.

Hope you guys enjoyed my story/first vlog and wish you all a awesome christmas holiday!

Haere ra and thank you.

Haere ra and thank you.                                                                                                                                      -Jin

Summer Learning Journey - Week 1 Day 2 / Aye Myat blog post - Optical Illusion SLJ

🙏Suksabai, talofa lava (english - greetings/hello) blog viewers! New post awaits!

Why I think my comment is a quality comment
I think this comment I did was a quality comment because I greeted the person/blogger, asked questions, (good questions too). I also complemented their work and said bye, in maori, as well as hi. And I wrote the comment in a neat form. I even added a link to the a mind twisting illusion that I think is really crazy.

Summer Learning Journey - Week 1 Day 2 / Kowhaiwhai pattern - Create a kowhaiwhai pattern

🙏Suksabai, talofa lava (english - greetings/hello) blog viewers! New post awaits!

Kia ora blog viewers this is my kowhaiwhai pattern that I created myself with only two symbols. I used a template for this task. It was a simple pattern to be made. It represents the leaves and the branches on trees. Do you know which is leaves and which is branches? The kuro/fern plant is playing the role of the branch and the mangopare/hammerhead shark as leaves. Do you know the meaning behind the two symbols? The kuro represents peace, growth, new life and strength which the mangopare also represents strength. the mangopare also has two other meanings, power and courage. Hope you enjoyed my description of my own kowhaiwhai! I will name my pattern taiao which means in english, nature.

Haere ra and thank you.                                                                                                                                  -Jin

Summer Learning Journey - Week 1 Day 1 / Commenting - Marius blog post (My New Kittens)

🙏Suksabai, talofa lava (english - greetings/hello) blog viewers! New post awaits!

Why I think this comment is a quality comment.
I think this comment I did was a quality comment because I greeted the person/blogger, asked questions, (good questions too) I told the person/blogger why I might not get a cat and what pet I have at the moment. I also complemented his cats and said bye, in maori, as well as hi in maori. And I wrote the comment in a neat form.

Summer Learning Journey - Week 1 Day 1 / Backyard Art - Butterfly/Dragonfly

🙏Suksabai, talofa lava (english - greetings/hello) blog viewers! New post awaits!

Kia ora blog viewers, I would like to say that this is my first Summer Learning Journey blog post! This post shows a image of a butterfly/dragonfly made out of nature/earth. As you can see I used two sunflowers and two baby-spring onions connected together to create antenas. I found two leafs (I do not know what plant it's from) for two big flappy wings and two clover leafs as smaller wings for balance. I used a dead stick for the torso. Hope you liked it! You could make one of your own.

Make sure to comment to notify or to just leave a nice text you want to say. Remember to comment appropriate choice of words and say something nice or give the blog poster a suggestion.

Goodbye and thank you!

It's the holiday... summer learning journey

🙏Suksabai, talofa lava (english - greetings/hello) blog viewers! New post awaits!

Talofa lava blogger viewers, as you may know, it's the holiday. A whole 6 weeks freed from school's work. This 6 weeks break is actually a christmas break. This means presents, toys and huge feasts. I can't wait for christmas. 6 weeks break is a long time so I thought I could do something that will take some time off my hands and keep me occupied, this is where I found out that Manaiakalani is chucking Summer Learning Journey up on the shelves for this summer. I had a great idea, do the Summer Learning Journey! I will be doing the Summer Learning Journey for this 6 week break. For now on you (my blog viewers and Manaiakalani) may admire my work that will be done for the Summer Learning Journey!

Hope you guys have a great christmas holiday!
Fare well and thank you.

Extn Term4 Reflection

Extn Term4 Reflection

2020 has been rough because of Covid and stuff but there have been some moments in 2020 that were wholesome like extension. Extension this year was one of the best opportunities for me to do, it was my first ever extension too. Hopefully I get in extension next year.

Being in extension was a huge step for me because being in extension means: more work, harder work and different class mates but I was prepared for all of those obstacles. Extension was a challenge for me, it was hard at times and wholesome at other times, over all, I think extension was awesome!

One of my favourite activities in extension was when me and a buddy danced in front of the other extension people (that was in term3). Thank you all for reading my Extension reflection, goodbye and thank you.

Term 4 Art Alive - Carving

Kia ora blog-viewers! This is my new post that shows the Maori art of carving. I did this animation for our Point England theme for the term, Art Alive. This term is all about art and beauty. My animation shows the audience (which is you) the tools used in carving and a simple Maori artwork! Hope you love the animation and the 3d graphics that I did at somepoint in the movie. Thank you and goodbye!
